Monster1st is a free to use community inspired marketplace for short- and long-term rentals across the UK.
With monster choice for places to stay, store, park and work, we connect guests and hosts so they can deal directly and securely through our internal messaging and calendar booking system. Hosts can easily manage bookings with the option to accept, decline or further discuss their rental with an interested guest.
Members have the option to share their current set of circumstances, hobbies and interests on their profile, which creates the opportunity for guests and hosts to connect with like-minded people. Sharing personal space, in and around a home or place of work, with someone you don’t know isn’t always easy. It's better, we believe, to guest or host with someone you hold common ground with, where a shared ethos creates a foundation for a better experience.
Hosts can advertise their usual rental prices or offer our Monster1st rates. These suggested rental tariffs give hosts and guests the option to share the same universal rates and pricing structure - one member helping another receives the same rates back in return, good for one and good for all.

Our story...
2011
Our founder Robert was struggling to spend quality time with his children after they moved away with their mother. His travel and accommodation were difficult to organise and afford on a regular basis, so he set out to find other dads that were in a similar situation. He thought that if he could find a large enough group of people sharing a similar set of circumstances and spread geographically, they could help each other with places to stay, park or by sharing travel costs.
2012
Desperate to find a solution, Robert considered creating a website for single parents that found themselves in the same position as him. He aspired to create a group of parents all helping each other by paying and charging the same overnight rental rate.
Eventually, he found a solution for overnight stays close to his children, exchanging his spare time to renovate bedrooms in a local pub and guest house in return for free accommodation. But, and despite, finding a viable workaround to his challenges, he continued to ponder the concept of a free to use website that would give its members the option to connect with like-minded people and share the same rates.
2014
As Robert gave more thought to his idea, he realised there were all kinds of people, from all walks of life, that could benefit from a rental marketplace where guests and hosts charge the same rates and, in turn, help a group of individuals sharing the same circumstances.
2015
Without the technical know-how or finances to develop and market a website that could deliver the service, he spent many years trying to find a developer and online marketing company that could help bring his concept to life.
2019
Almost 10 years after coming up with the concept, Robert joined forces with app developer, Charlie, and online marketing expert, Stuart, who as a team brought his vision of Monster1st to life.
2024
Monster1st launched and began growing its rental community.
